Piano Instillation and Camps
In the beginning.. was a crusty ol' piano...
Until one day, it was painted a beautiful, sunshine yellow!

People stop to play ...

More amazing 3d collages
The Center for the Arts is excited to have one of the pianos from the city-wide exhibition: Play Me I'm Yours. The piano is located in front of the Center. This past week, local high school artist, Miranda Borack created a design for the piano and worked with another local artist, Kelly Langdon and the Piano Camp students to fulfill Miranda's design! Here are a few pictures of the process. When the final sign is in place, I will have a finished image. Stop by the Center and try out the piano, whether you are a musician or not! Also check out the website for the instillation:

Super Sculptor Camp
Exploring Art
This past week we had a preschool art camp: Exploring Art and Super Sculptor for elementary age artists. Each day preschoolers had an art theme: lines, colors, textures, etc that they explored with a variety of 3d and 2d materials. Campers in the Super Sculpture Camp used clay, wire, paper mache, Styrofoam, pipe cleaners and recycled materials to create works of art in the round. Take a look at all the fun!

I am a little behind on my summer blog updates! Summer has been flying by because camps have been so busy with art excitement! There are so many amazing opportunities at the Center for the Arts, it makes me want to be a kid again. Here are images from two middle school camps: Papermaking with Jeannette Elliot and Digital Photography with me.
