This week we will be wrapping up collagraphs, so stay posted for more prints. Next up: drypoint, a challenging intaglio-type print with beautiful results and no acid bath.
The preschool class in also learning about making prints. Along with the project of the day, preschool students have access to a variety of materials that change each week. They are encouraged to explore and create freely.
The plexi glass surface is used for rolling out ink and becomes its own work of art.
I will keep posting prints as they are printed! Students created monoprints for the background of their collagraphs, this was a great exploration in color; finding the perfect combination to make the collagraph pop out from the background color.
Students were challenged to try an additive form of monotype on their second day of printmaking. For this method, they painted their image on the plate and then pulled the print. Here are a few of the results: both additive and two subtractive prints from the previous week.
